Preparing Students for Career Success: Tech CU’s University Partnerships in Action
At Tech CU, we believe in supporting the communities we serve. One of the ways we do that is by empowering students as they prepare for their futures.
As strong advocates for STEAM education, we’ve collaborated with universities on initiatives designed to help students and alumni succeed in their career journeys. From building confidence in interviews to learning how to navigate professional environments, these programs are all about giving students practical tools they can actually use.
Helping Students Launch Their Careers at San José State University
One of the programs Tech CU has proudly supported for many years is the Spartan Success Series: Networking Success from the Executive Suite at San José State University.
The Spartan Success Series gives students the opportunity to talk with accomplished alumni, build critical networking skills, and gain insight into different career paths. These conversations help students better understand what the workforce really looks like, and how to stand out in it.
The series focuses on sharpening interview skills, exploring career options, and preparing students for real-world challenges. Tech CU plays a role by supporting and leading workshops that help students succeed, whether that’s navigating California’s competitive housing market or practicing virtual interview techniques with guidance from our HR professionals.
Most importantly, the program creates space for students to connect with professionals who’ve walked a similar path. For many participants, those conversations are a key confidence boost as they prepare to launch their careers.
Expanding Career Readiness at Boise State University
In recent years, Tech CU has also been excited to support Boise State University College of Business and Economics through the COBE Career Closet.
At the COBE Career Closet, Boise State students can access professional clothing free of charge to help them dress for interviews, career fairs, internships, research conferences, and other career-related opportunities. Clothing is available for all students, and the resource is open to Broncos of all majors and identities.
In addition to professional attire, students can consult with student and staff attendants for advice on clothing choices, applications, interviews, and workplace expectations. The goal is simple: remove barriers so students can show up feeling prepared, confident, and focused on their next step.
