Investing in Financial Wellness: Tech CU Supports the 2026 Financial Counselor Academy

Tech CU is proud to host the Northern California Capstone event for the California's Credit Unions and Nevada's Credit Unions and the Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation's 2026 Financial Counselor Academy (FCA) on June 9.

Designed to strengthen financial wellness education and help credit union professionals with the tools they need to better serve their communities, the event marks the final day of the 13-week program and celebrates participants as they complete the Academy and continue their commitment to financial wellness education.

The 13-week program, which runs from March through June, is designed to enhance the self-study Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) offered by America's Credit Unions. Participants engage in online learning sessions from March 12 through May 21, followed by online testing and in-person capstone events in Northern and Southern California in June.

Through interactive webinars, collaborative learning opportunities, study guides, and live exam preparation sessions, participants gain practical knowledge and counseling skills to help people navigate important financial decisions with greater confidence.

In addition to strengthening financial counseling expertise, the Academy also encourages relationship-building among participants, creating opportunities for collaboration and peer learning across the credit union industry.
