Tech CU Sponsors Happy Hollow Foundation’s Senior Safari; Funds School Field Trip

Feel like a kid again! Tech CU is sponsoring the Senior Safari, presented by Kaiser Permanente at Happy Hollow Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting, advocating for, and enhancing San José’s treasured Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. Happy Hollow is a 16-acre facility with 50 animal species, family-friendly rides and attractions, and special events for all ages.

Aimed at serving older adults in the local community, the Senior Safari is designed to help adults (aged 50+) improve their health, socialize with others, and enjoy a unique environment that stimulates both the mind and the body.

Attendees can get some fresh air and exercise while enjoying:

• Early entry into the park and zoo
• Animal meet-and-greets
• Zookeeper chats
• The 10,000-step challenge
• A variety of activities
• Healthy breakfasts (available for purchase)

Senior Safari admission and parking are free, and guests are welcome to stay for the day after the gates open to the general public. Guests who enter before 10 a.m. may stay the entire day for free!

Mark your calendars! The Senior Safari takes place one day per month for 6 months, starting in May. Dates include:

• August 25
• September 22
• October 27

Tech CU believes that the Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is a local icon and everyone should have the opportunity to visit it, regardless of financial status. That is why, in addition to the above, we also funded the Title I field trip for Shirakawa Elementary School in May - allowing more than 126 K-2 students to enjoy the Zoo - 50% live less than a mile from Happy Hollow and were able to visit for the very first time. The kids had a great time exploring and seeing the animals.
