Tech CU Makes an Impact in the Cancer Space

Critical Services
Cancer is the leading cause of death in Silicon Valley. Every year more than 10,000 people in our community are diagnosed with cancer. This is approximately 28 diagnoses per day! Research shows that pairing medical treatment with non-medical support significantly improves health outcomes.
Cancer CAREpoint is a community-based nonprofit that provides free support services to anyone impacted by cancer in Silicon Valley, regardless of a client’s financial, insurance, or immigration status. Its services include individual and group counseling, nutrition workshops, low-mobility exercise classes, guided imagery instruction, and a Wig and Head Covering Boutique.
Website Redesign
Tech CU has partnered with Cancer CAREpoint on a grant award of $5,000 to support the organization’s website redesign making it easier to navigate, more intuitive, and user-friendly.
“Our partnership with Tech CU comes at a critical time, as we build on our strategic pillars to enhance care advocacy, service delivery, partnerships, and sustainable infrastructure in our community. Thanks to this support, we can be there for our clients during the toughest and most uncertain time in their lives,” said Christine Salinas, Cancer CAREpoint’s Director of Development and Marketing.
Cancer CAREpoint serves 1,500+ clients per year and has helped 10,000 people to date. Additionally, 98% of clients report a higher quality of life after engaging with Cancer CAREpoint programs and services.
