Community Spotlight: San Jose State University

As a believer in STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), Tech CU is a proud supporter of San Jose State University (SJSU), a public university located in downtown San Jose, California – in the heart of Silicon Valley. SJSU is the oldest public university on the West Coast and the founding campus of the California State University system.

Over the past several years, Tech CU has supported SJSU through a number of initiatives including sponsoring San Jose State University’s Networking Success from the Executive Suite and supporting San Jose State University’s Cares fund.

Designed to help students learn more about starting their careers and building networks, the event allows participants to strengthen their networking skills through informative presentations and in-person practice as well as gain insights from successful San Jose State University alumni.

Tech CU employees can often be found facilitating workshops at SJSU - teaching classes on things such as how to prepare for a virtual interview by bringing in HR employees to give students hands-on practice and help them hone their interviewing skills and how to understand the local real estate market - from market insights to additional items to consider when buying or investing in a home (including location, amenities, etc.).

San Jose State University’s Cares Fund

Tech CU has also donated to San Jose State University’s Cares Fund, which provides resources and services for SJSU students facing many kinds of financial crises including paying for students’ food, rent, and other necessities.
