The San Jose Sports Authority announce Tech CU as sponsor of SJ26 Campaign

Tech CU will be the official credit union during the entire 2026 Sports & Entertainment Lineup

SAN JOSÉ, CA — Today, the San Jose Sports Authority announced a new partnership with Tech CU in support of the SJ26 campaign, a citywide effort celebrating the historic year of major global sporting events in Silicon Valley.

“From national headliners like Kehlani to watch parties at San Pedro Square, we’re going big to make sure San José residents have a chance to be a part of the action even without a ticket to the big games,” said San José Mayor Matt Mahan. “But that is only possible because so many of our hometown companies, like Tech CU and local entrepreneurs, are leaning in and giving back. They want to show the world what we know well here at home — San José is becoming a destination not just for innovation, but for activation.”

Built on the shared commitment to community impact, this collaboration brings together Tech CU’s member-centric values with the Sports Authority’s mission to host premier sporting events in San Jose.

“We’re proud to support SJ26,” said Robert Reed, Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Banking Officer at Tech CU. “As a San José–based credit union and the official credit union of SJ26, Tech CU was built to serve this community, and we believe major moments should be shared. SJ26 creates free, accessible experiences that allow the entire community to participate in a historic year for San José, and we’re honored to partner with the San Jose Sports Authority to help ensure these events are compelling, reflect the city’s energy and passion, and are welcoming for all who attend.”

SJ26 brings together an eclectic group of community partners to activate San José throughout the year with free and accessible events during Super Bowl 60, March Madness, and the FIFA World Cup. The campaign is designed to create shared experiences for residents and visitors — from watch parties and headlining concerts to community-based programming that reflects the energy and diversity of San José.

“We are incredibly grateful to the amazing civic-minded companies like Tech CU that have stepped up as San José 2026 Partners for the San Jose Sports Authority,” said John Poch, Executive Director of the San Jose Sports Authority. “The generous contribution by Tech CU not only helps us bring world-class sporting events to our city but also creates opportunities for our residents and visitors to experience the excitement and pride that sports bring to a community. The entire group of SJ26 community champions are what truly makes San José such a special place to live, work and play. Together, we are showcasing San José as a premier destination for sports and entertainment while driving economic vitality and fostering lasting memories for everyone involved.”

With more than a half a million sports fans from around the world estimated to visit the Bay Area this year, the SJ26 activations will help San Jose capture a share of the expected $1.4 billion in economic impact across the region.
