Tech CU has always prided itself in our engagement with the local community. A recent example of this is our partnership with the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County. For those unfamiliar with the Housing Trust, it is an organization that strives to make Silicon Valley a more affordable place to live by increasing the supply of affordable housing, assisting first-time homebuyers, preventing homelessness, and stabilizing neighborhoods. To show our support of these initiatives, we are proud to sponsor the organization’s upcoming Investor Briefing — an event that will be honoring Carl Guardino, President and CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
On a related note, I recently had the good fortune of seeing a documentary entitled “Silicon Valley” as part of the “American Experience” series on PBS, chronicling the early days of Silicon Valley. The film spotlights the founders of Fairchild Semiconductor — the company from which Tech CU was originally formed. It reminded me of the place this credit union has in the history of Silicon Valley and how fortunate we still are to occupy such a spot, while working each day to support our local communities and serve our members.
Finally, as we look at our engagement with members and the community, we plan to send you a letter soon asking for your input on key issues facing Tech CU. Your opinion is very important to us and we appreciate your time in completing the enclosed survey.
Check your local PBS station for “Silicon Valley” show times. You can also watch online.
