A few words from Barbara Kamm, CEO – Nov 2012
With Thanksgiving just a few days away, I wanted to share with you some of the ways in which we, at Tech CU, give thanks and give back to the community. In addition to our recent “Books for Treats” drive spearheaded by Richard Dugan, Area Manager of our Santa Teresa financial center, which offers children’s books in place of sugary treats on Halloween, we are also actively involved in the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot.
This is a cause that I am proud to support on both a personal and company level. At Tech CU, we encourage our employees, our members and their families to participate in this wonderful event which donates funds to three organizations providing food, health care and housing to local communities: Second Harvest Food Bank, Santa Clara County Children’s Health Initiative, and the Housing Trust of Santa Clara. If you haven’t yet signed up, please consider joining us on Turkey Day!
Most importantly, we can’t forget at times like this how lucky we are as those in other parts of the country struggle to rebuild their homes and lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
I wish all of you a safe and happy Thanksgiving as you join with friends and family to spend this time together.
