2021 Tax Statements
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY 2021 TAX FORMS?
1099-INT and 1098 forms are issued based on Opens a new windowIRS guidelines. Please review these guidelines to see if they apply to your specific financial situation. We will issue your tax forms by January 31. If you have not received them by February 15, please check Online Banking, visit a branch, or call us at (800) 553-0880.
Please note you will not receive tax forms if you did not have a qualifying account or if your account(s) did not meet the following minimum reporting requirements:
- 1099 minimum: $10 in dividends earned
- 1098 minimum: $600 interest paid
WHERE DO I FIND MY 1099 FORM?
If you are enrolled in Online Banking and you meet the IRS guidelines ($10 in dividends earned), you can find your 1099-INT form by:
- Logging in to Online Banking
- Go to “Statements & Docs” in the menu
- Select “Monthly & Tax Statements”
If you are enrolled in Small Business Online Banking, you can find your 1099-INT form by:
- Logging in to Small Business Online Banking
- Go to “eStatements” on the left hand menu
- Select “1099 e-Statements”
- Select date range and your Business Tax ID Number from the “Account” field
- Click Search
If you are enrolled in Commercial Online Banking, you can find your 1099-INT form by:
- Logging in to Commercial Online Banking
- Go to “Account Information”
- Select “1099 e-Statements”
- Select “Search period”
- Click “Search Statements”
- Click on the hyperlink of your Business Tax ID Number
WHERE DO I FIND MY 1098 FORM?
If you meet the guidelines for receiving a 1098 form ($600 interest paid), you can sign into Online Banking, select your mortgage account and then select Statements & Docs. You'll find a link to your 1098 form under Monthly & Tax Statements.
WHERE CAN I GET A COPY OF MY 1099R?
If you are enrolled in Online Banking and you meet the IRS guidelines, you can find your 1099R form by:
- Logging in to Online Banking
- Go to “Statements & Docs” in the menu
- Select “Monthly & Tax Statements”

HOW CAN I FIND THE AMOUNT OF INTEREST EARNED IN 2021?
You can find the amount of interest earned in the previous year by logging into Online Banking and looking at your December statement. This information will also appear on your 2021 tax form.
WILL I RECEIVE A TAX FORM FOR MY SOLAR LOAN?
You will not receive tax forms from Tech CU for your solar loan since solar loans are secured by the solar system, and not by real estate.
However, if you purchased your solar system in 2021 you may be eligible for a Federal Tax Credit (FTC)1 and you'll need to check with the IRS for specifics. Because everyone's income and financial situation is different, it’s important that you consult with a tax professional for specific advice and details on the amount of the credit. Please note: a tax credit, if you are eligible, reduces the amount of taxes you owe, but does not guarantee a tax rebate or refund.

You will also need the total cost of your solar system provided by the solar installer in the Home Improvement Contract at the time you purchased your solar system. You should reach out to your solar installer directly to request a copy of the contract.
1Under federal law, you may receive a tax credit equal to 26% of the cost of your solar installation. Other state-level incentives may apply. You should contact your tax professional for specific advice as to whether the credit is allowable on your 2021 return.
WILL I RECEIVE BOTH AN ONLINE STATEMENT AND A PAPER ONE?
If you signed up for eStatements, your tax statement is only available through Online Banking. If you did not, you will receive a paper statement mailed to the address we have on file and your tax statement will also be available through Online Banking.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE TAX FORM 5498 FOR MY IRA OR HSA ACCOUNT?
These statements will be available in May 2022. To see contributions made in 2021, review your December 2021 statement.

WHERE CAN I FIND MY 13-DIGIT ACCOUNT NUMBER SO THAT I CAN PROVIDE IT TO MY TAX PREPARER?
Your 13-digit account number comprised of your account code, account ID and member number formatted as follows:
- First Digit: Account Code: 1 for share accounts, 2 for loans
- Next 2 digits: Account ID
- Last 10 digits: Membership number preceded by zeros
