    Certificates

    Liquid Certificate

    Liquid Certificates offer members a choice of three short-term certificates (3, 4 and 5-month terms) at a competitive rate while providing easy and flexible access to the Certificate deposit.

    • Minimum opening balance of $1,000 in “new to Tech CU” money.
    • Make unlimited “new-to-Tech CU” deposits.
    • Unlimited funds can be withdrawn without penalty six days after certificate opening. However, a minimum of $1,000 must be maintained in the account.
    • One withdrawal per calendar month may be made during the term of the Certificate.
    • Withdrawals must be made more than six days apart irrespective of the month in which they are made.

    Certificates renew automatically at maturity into the same term at the currently offered rate unless you request otherwise. For all certificates, dividends are calculated daily. On certificates with terms of one year or more, dividends are compounded and paid quarterly. On certificates less than one year, dividends are paid at maturity. Alternatively, for certificates with terms of at least six months that are opened in-person, dividends may be paid monthly into a Tech CU Checking or Savings account, if so elected. For Certificates opened online, if your certificate is not funded within 14 days from the date it is opened, it will be closed automatically. For all certificates, if you withdraw any portion of your principal before maturity, you may be charged early withdrawal penalties.

Fees may reduce earnings on all account types that earn dividends. When a Certificate is opened, the rate is fixed for the term of the Certificate. Early withdrawal penalties apply to Certificates. Early IRA withdrawals may be subject to tax penalty. Ask a Tech CU representative for information about federal insurance on accounts with balances in excess of $250,000.00.
