Making Holiday Wishes Come True: Tech CU Joins the Family Giving Tree Drive

This holiday season, Tech CU invites you to take part in the Family Giving Tree’s Holiday Wish Drive, a cherished tradition that brings joy to Bay Area children, adults, and seniors. Help us make holiday wishes come true by considering a donation to this wonderful organization, with whom we have proudly partnered for the past 18 years.

Despite the immense wealth in Silicon Valley, it has one of the highest poverty rates in the nation, affecting nearly 3.5 million residents who call the Bay Area home. This means that, for many Silicon Valley children, adults, and seniors, holiday gifts are not guaranteed. The Family Giving Tree is stepping in to fill that gap, connecting with local service agencies to gather and fulfill specific holiday wishes. Each wish represents a special, unique gift that someone has dreamed of receiving, and by granting it, we’re sending a powerful message: someone cares.

How you can help:

• Donate: Every contribution helps purchase gifts for children, adults, and seniors who might otherwise go without.
• Lead a drive in your community: Rally friends, family, or coworkers to gather gifts and brighten the season for more families.
• Volunteer: Help by sorting, wrapping, or preparing gifts for distribution; each volunteer plays a vital role in making holiday wishes come true

Last year alone, the Family Giving Tree, with the support of its 300+ local partner organizations and volunteers, fulfilled nearly 44,000 wishes. Tech CU is proud to have played a part in that number.

Family Giving Tree has served over two million children and individuals throughout the greater Bay Area, actively endeavors to inspire the values of kindness, philanthropy, and volunteerism in the community, and has grown to become the largest holiday gift and backpack donation program in California.
