Janikke Klem has been honored as a
Woman to Watch by the Credit Union Times.
Klem joined Tech CU over three years ago as a VP of Community and Government
Relations — with her goal being to ensure an active and engaged role for the
credit union in the local community.
In addition to spearheading several
initiatives with such organizations as the Family Giving Tree, Leukemia &
Lymphoma society and Second Harvest Food Bank, she also formalized an employee
volunteer program — providing employees one full day off per year to volunteer.
The program has been successful, with employees logging more than 450 volunteer
hours.
Along with her efforts in the local
community, she has also worked with legislators on various issues including the
passage of California Senate Bill 850, which established a statewide
baccalaureate degree pilot program in each of California's community college
districts.
