Technology Credit Union Offers Spring Executive Program Scholarship to Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Center

The Bay Area credit union calls for applications by Friday, March 18.

San Jose, CA (February 28, 2011) — Technology Credit Union announced today a call for applications to win a $12,000 scholarship to the spring Exponential Technologies Executive Program (held April 1-8) at Singularity University. Singularity University is an interdisciplinary university housed at NASA Ames Research Center. The winner of the scholarship will have the opportunity to learn from and engage with some of the world’s brightest technology minds.

Singularity’s Executive Program brings together an exceptional group of tech visionaries who educate, inform, and prepare program participants to recognize the opportunities and disruptive influences of exponentially growing technologies. Participants include decision-makers, strategists, CEOs, CTOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and government leaders who want to gain insight into how accelerating technologies will affect their future.

“Tech CU has been a part of the technology community in Silicon Valley for more than 50 years and we believe in the value of engaging the best minds to create social change,” said Tech CU President and CEO Barbara Kamm. “By partnering with Singularity to offer this unique opportunity, we are giving a candidate the chance to make a real difference here in the Bay Area and beyond.”

In addition to its executive programs, Singularity University offers a nine-week graduate studies program and 10-day management-level programs for leaders around the world.

Who Can Apply? Tech CU is accepting applications from high tech or business executives, small business owners, entrepreneurs, tech visionaries and enthusiasts. The scholarship is open to the general public.

When and Where to Apply? Applications can be submitted online at www.techcu.com/singularity. All applications must be received by Friday, March 18, 2011.

Candidate applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges that includes: Tech CU President and CEO Barbara Kamm, Silicon Valley Leadership Group President and CEO Carl Guardino, and Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) President and CEO Muhammed Chaudhry.

The winner of the scholarship will be determined by the overall score a candidate receives on a series of essay questions. The individual must be available to attend the full Singularity academic program held April 1 – 8, 2011.

The winner will also enjoy one month of Tech CU Private Banking services, a complimentary consultation with a Tech CU Wealth Management Investment Advisor, and a one-month complimentary membership to the Silicon Valley Capital Club.
