Bay Area credit union calls for applications by October 31.
San Jose, CA (October 5, 2010) — Silicon Valley is renowned for thought leaders who are passionate about pushing innovation and creating the new frontier in technology. Now, those experts can use their knowledge and experience to create powerful social change. Technology Credit Union is calling for applications from local high tech visionaries and enthusiasts who are interested in receiving up to $8,000 in scholarship to participate in the 4-Day Exponential Technology Executive Program, scheduled for December 9 – 12 , at Singularity University, an interdisciplinary university housed at NASA Ames Research Center.
Singularity University offers a 10-week graduate studies program, as well as four- and nine-day management-level programs for decision-makers, strategists, CEOs, CTOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and government leaders. Attending the program gives executives an understanding of how accelerating technologies will transform their business by showing them what is in the lab today and where technology will be in three to 10 years. The program concentrates on six areas of innovation:
“Powerful change can take place when you engage the best minds and use technology for social benefit,” said Tech CU President and CEO Barbara Kamm. “Singularity gives candidates the unique opportunity to use their experience to impact change in the world where it’s needed most, while expanding their own knowledge by engaging with their peers.”
Who Can Apply? Tech CU is accepting applications from high tech or business executives, small business owners, entrepreneurs, tech visionaries and enthusiasts. Potential candidates must be Tech CU members, an associated family member, or an employee of a Tech CU member company.
When and Where to Apply? Applications can be submitted online at www.techcu.com/singularity. Click on the link for Singularity University Scholarship. All applications must be received by October 31, 2010.
Candidate applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges that includes: Tech CU President and CEO Barbara Kamm, Filene Research Institute CIO Denise Gabel, LinkSV CEO Bob Karr and Silicon Valley Leadership Group Education Policy/Esq. Brett Barley. Judges will determine the scholarship winner by the overall score a candidate receives on a series of essay questions. The winner must be available to attend the full Singularity academic program.
“We’re extraordinarily excited to partner with Tech CU to give away a seat at our Exponential Technologies Executive Program,” said Peter Diamandis, chairman and co-founder of Singularity University. “The SU Exponential Technologies Program brings together all the top faculty in Silicon Valley to who how exponential technologies are going to affect companies, industries and products for the next 5, 10 and 20 years — the products in development and the products that will be changing your future.”
