  • Training Department At Technology Credit Union Wins Two Prestigious Awards

    SAN JOSE, CA (January 20, 2009) An extensive employee training curriculum with course topics ranging from mortgage certification to public speaking and business writing has earned Technology Credit Union's Training Department a spot on Training Magazine's annual Top 125 listing. This prestigious list is the most elite ranking for training and learning development in the country.

    "To be recognized alongside Fortune 500 companies as a leader in training and learning development is a great honor," said LeeAnne Giblin, senior vice president of human resources. "Tech CU takes great pride in providing our employees with the tools needed for professional growth and the guidance to provide our membership with outstanding service."

    Training programs offered at Tech CU include an in-depth four day New Hire Orientation that not only covers business fundamentals, but also has frequent guest speakers from the executive team including the CEO, a six month Mentorship Program custom built to the career goals of each specific participant, a comprehensive career path website with the tools to accomplish specific career goals, and an 18-month Leadership Enrichment and Development (LEAD) program. The LEAD program requires 125 hours of learning and development and many of its graduates have been promoted into management and leadership positions since its conception in 2005.

    The training and development programs at Tech CU are managed by Michelle Greear, AVP corporate training. Ms. Greear was also recently honored for her outstanding accomplishments during an awards presentation at the 2008 Experience Learning Live (ELL) conference in Tempe, Arizona.

    The ELLys are the only national awards presented to credit union trainers for their achievements in the area of professional staff development. Michelle Greear was presented with the 2008 First Place Coach Award. This award recognizes a trainer who has changed a person's career and life through education, mentoring, and coaching.
