Bay Area financial institution pledges to put members first when it comes to products and services.
San Jose, CA - (January 10, 2012) — New banking rules imposed by Congress on debit and overdraft fees may have spurred many banks to begin charging more for their products and services. However one local financial institution, Bay Area-based Tech CU, has pledged to maintain its low fees and free checking for members.
"The reality for consumers these days is that they have to work really hard and jump through a lot of hoops if they want to save money on something like free checking from their bank,” said Joe Anzalone, executive vice president and chief banking officer for Tech CU. “That’s not the case with Tech CU. We’re local, and so we are committed to making it as simple and easy as possible for our members to save money — whether through lower fees on services, a free checking account, or lower interest rates on loans."
Tech CU offers free Basic Checking and free Student Checking accounts. All of Tech CU’s deposit accounts offer the following additional benefits at no charge: Online Banking (including Bill Pay, eNotifications and eStatements), Mobile Banking, no fees when using ATMs in the Tech CU ATM network (more that 68,000 nationwide) and a free Tech CU Visa® CheckCard.
For consumers who are looking for a financial partner who can provide savings beyond a basic deposit account, Tech CU also offers:
- Low interest rates on mortgages, and home equity lines and loans (along with local decision-making)
- Low interest rates on auto loans
- Low interest rate loans and Tech CU partner discounts on certain products for energy-efficient home improvement projects, such as solar panels
- Low interest rates on student and personal loans and lines of credit
- Low interest rates on commercial and business loans, including SBA loans
Tech CU’s Relationship Rewards program offers additional benefits and savings to members. For example, member rewards increase with a Tech CU first mortgage, home equity line of credit or auto loan. For more information, see our relationship rewards.
"Today’s banking market is very competitive and most consumers are looking for value,” said Anzalone. “That’s why we’re going out of our way to assure our members that Tech CU will maintain its free checking and keep our fees as low as possible."
