San Jose, CA (Aug 2, 2005)—Technology Credit Union, among the top 1% of the nation's largest credit unions, has announced a $2,650 charitable donation to HOPE Services. As part of a membership drive at the newly opened Santa Teresa Financial Center in south San Jose, and as a way to show community support, the credit union announced it would donate $10 to HOPE Services for every new account opened during the month of June. At the end of the successful month-long promotion, HOPE Services is slated to receive $2,650.
As Technology Credit Union expands, so does its commitment to the community. “We’re very excited to provide affordable and convenient financial services in the Santa Teresa area through our new Santa Teresa Financial Center. We also viewed the Grand Opening of this new office as a great opportunity to give back to the community. We looked at a number of charitable organizations and ultimately chose HOPE Services because we recognized it as an organization that truly makes a difference in the community,” stated Kathy Litman, vice president of marketing at Technology Credit Union. “We’re thrilled that the promotion was a success, and that we can surprise HOPE Services with a more substantial donation than initially projected.”
The donation from Tech CU will be disbursed to HOPE Services, which is dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities live and participate in their communities. The donation will go toward HOPE’s Community Employment program in the Silicon Valley area. This particular program offers several services for HOPE clients with developmental disabilities who are seeking employment, including job preparation, temporary employment, job placement, and follow-up support.
HOPE Services is dedicated to understanding the dreams of people with developmental disabilities and assist them, their families and other interested parties in creating opportunities for those dreams to come true. Tony, a HOPE Services client, enjoys going to HOPE’s Work Activity Center everyday. Tony says, “I like coming to work and seeing my friends. I also like doing my job and getting paid for what I do.” HOPE Services provides the necessary training to ensure that every individual is able to utilize his/her skills at the highest potential. HOPE is committed to developing innovative service delivery models to best meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
