GIS guides Boston plowing priorities

At a location-technology event at City Hall this morning, Boston mayor Thomas Menino announced the city will use geographic information systems technology to display not just streets but buildings, traffic backups, emergency calls and the location of constituent requests received from a 24-hour hotline.

PermissionTV adds HD-quality video

Video platform provider PermissionTV Inc. will announce this morning it is linking its online video publishing platform technology to the streaming high-definition-quality TV service provided by Utah-based Move Networks Inc.

Boston-based law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo PC handled the legal services for West Coast biopharmaceuticals company Genelabs Technologies Inc. just acquired for $57 million by GlaxoSmithKline plc.
