Any Tech CU member who funds an auto loan between October 1 and December 31, 2008 will be automatically entered to win 1 of 3 monthly drawings for a prize of a $500 gas card.
Winners will be chosen randomly and notified within two weeks at the end of each promotional period. Winners will be drawn on October 31, 2008, November 30, 2008, and December 31, 2008. To claim the prize, members must respond to the notification from Tech CU within five days. After that time, the member forfeits the prize and a new member will be selected and notified. The winner from each promotional period will be officially announced within one week of response from member to claim the prize.
All drawings will be conducted under the supervision of Tech CU. The decisions of Tech CU are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes.
All prizes will be awarded.
Cash will not be substituted for any prizes. Tech CU is not responsible for any additional costs or fees involved beyond the cost for the gas cards.
Contest open to Tech CU members who are California residents over age 18.
Employees, officers, and volunteer officials of Technology Credit Union and their family members are not eligible to win.
Taxes on prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be issued an IRS 1099 tax form for the approximate retail value of any awarded prize. Winners are responsible for reporting the dollar amount of their prize as income on their 2008 income taxes.
Technology Credit Union is not responsible for any claim, injury, loss, or damage to any person or property that arises out of acceptance or use of any prize.

Except where prohibited by law, the winner’s acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner’s permission for the Sweepstakes Entities and those acting under their authority to use said winner’s name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice, and address (city and state only) on a worldwide basis, and in all forms of media, in perpetuity, for advertising or promotional purposes without review or further compensation.
Odds: Odds of winning in each promotional period are approximately 1 in 70,000; however, actual odds depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.
This Sweepstakes shall be governed by California law. By accepting the prize associated with this sweepstakes, winners agree that California courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute or litigation arising from or relating to this Sweepstakes and that venue shall be only be within one of Tech CU’s community-chartered counties: Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, or Santa Cruz.
To enter without purchase, payment or obligation: Hand-print your name, address, city, state, zip, day and evening phone numbers, and the words “Smooth Sailing Sweepstakes” on a 3" x 5" card, and mail in a stamped #10 envelope to: Tech CU Smooth Sailing Sweepstakes, 2010 N. First Street, Ste. 210, San Jose, CA 95131. To be entered in the first promotional period, all mail-in entries must be received by October 30, 2008. To be entered in the second promotional period, all mail-in entries must be received by November 30, 2008. To be entered in the third promotional period, all mail-in entries must be received by December 31, 2008. Enter as often as you wish; however, only one entry per postmarked envelope will be accepted. No mechanical reproductions permitted. Entries become the property of Tech CU and will not be returned.
