Tech CU's Community Involvement

Tech CU in the Community

Several decades ago, Technology Credit Union was founded with the underlying philosophy of people helping people. Although the Credit Union has grown and evolved to become a leader in the industry, the desire to help the community that led to its foundation is still strongly present.

While Tech CU’s primary mission is to meet the financial needs of its members in the Bay Area, the Credit Union is proud to be the supporter of various community initiatives in the neighborhoods where its members live and work. Technology Credit Union’s involvement in the community includes volunteerism and donation drives for food, clothing, toys and monetary funds.

For 2009, Tech CU has partnered with Sacred Heart Community Service and Bill Wilson Center.

Sacred Heart Community Service
Founded in 1964, Sacred Heart Community Service is a non-denominational, non-profit organization that provides integrated services on site, free of charge, to all in need. Through a comprehensive array of resources, services, and community involvement initiatives, SHCS is dedicated to bringing our community together to address poverty in Silicon Valley.

Bill Wilson Center

Bill Wilson Center is committed to working with the community to ensure that every youth has access to the variety of services needed to grow to be healthy and self-sufficient adults. Through the years, Bill Wilson Center has helped youth make positive changes in their lives. The Center's mission is to support and strengthen the community by serving youth and families through counseling, housing, education, and advocacy.

Innovative Youth Internship

Tech CU would like to invite your son or daughter (ages 7 to 17) to participate in the Innovative YouthSM Internship, a unique learning program developed by Access Growth, LLC, (a Tech CU preferred partner).

As an intern working under the guidance of experienced business professionals in an environment connecting business, science and technology, your child will be trained to evaluate high-tech products and provide corporations with critical feedback on new products as well as new ideas. Through this experience, they will learn how successful technology companies are developed, formed, funded and managed. They will also have the opportunity to earn money for college by participating in focus groups or working on actual corporate innovation projects. To learn more, click here.
