When Technology Credit Union was founded by a group of people at Fairchild Semiconductor, it was with the intention to provide financial solutions to Fairchild employees. During the following decades, however, Tech CU grew rapidly to become a prime financial services provider for technology employees in the Silicon Valley. Although the Credit Union gained a community charter in 2004, Tech CU’s mission to serve the financial needs of technology employees has remained its main focus.
Among other things, the Credit Union offers special benefits to employees of its member companies through various exclusive promotions and unique programs, such as

- Free supplies and promotional materials
- Personalized service from a dedicated Business Development Manager
- Customized presentation about Tech CU products and services at the company’s site
- Special on-site events: promotional account opening, health fairs
- Lifetime memberships for employees and their relatives
Becoming a Member Company
There are two ways to qualify for become a Tech CU Member Company:
- Have offices in Santa Clara County, Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Mateo County, San Francisco County, or Santa Cruz County OR
- Be a technology-based company with an office anywhere in California.
